Campaign Kick-Offs

Primary season is about to ramp-up folks, here's two campaign kick-offs for you coming in the next couple of days:

On Saturday, January 7, District 118 State Representative candidate Joe Farias will be hosting a campaign kick-off rally at the Mission San Jose Community Center starting at 3pm. The center is located at 701 East Pyron at San Jose Drive. The event will last from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. For more information on the campaign, or the kick-off rally, you can call 210-317-6765 or you can visit

If you're one of the three other candidates for HD-118, shoot me an e-mail with your stuff and we'll post it here too.

Texas Democrat for Governor Bob Gammage today announced the “Set the Record Straight” Tour, a four-day, 14-stop airplane whistle stop tour of Texas, to officially kick-off the 2006 campaign. Gammage will be joined on the tour by Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor Ben Grant, and Democratic candidate for Comptroller Fred Head.

The Tour will begin in Sugarland – Tom DeLay’s current district and the district Gammage represented in the U.S. Congress – on January 9th, wind through East and Central Texas and finish up in Austin with a wrap-up press conference in Austin on January 12th.

Gammage, Lt. Gov candidate Ben Grant and Comptroller candidate Fred Head will be in San Antonio on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 11th. A 'whistlestop tour' (can it really be called that if there's no whistle?) is good and all, but why no stops south or west of San Antonio guys?
